I pride being an Indian?
proud to be a Pakistani?
proud to be an American?
Why should one pride being in one nationality...
I was musing on this topic....
I personaly feel a lot towards my country and always have some desperation to do something for the wellness of my country. Now My country..... How is it my country? because I am born and brought up there. Okay.
Born there///-----> Birth is an accident. I could have born anywhere infact.
We cannot choose our parents so... its something predecided and not earned by us.
Brought Up.............> My brought up was there because my parents were born there which again goes back to the last statement.
Now coming to Pride/.... is it not arrogant to pride something that you did not earn? Yes it is. Absolutely. I find my reason logically pleasing....
Then what is this attachment towards a place ? is it any thing near to caste/ religion feeling....
What a contradicting ideology am I having. Never could stand the caste feeling but now this country/race/ethnicity is exactly the same as that. what a bullshit!!!
Further argument within myself has led me to understand that there is difference in humanity and love! I don't understand how that national pride took me to distinguishing love and humanity... but this is what has happened
Love is a feeling which will want you to keep the other person/being happy and smiling no matter what irrespective of self interest. we find satisfaction and peace in the loved one's success and happiness/ Humanity is not wanting to cause pain or helping other person in sorrow and guilt. There's very clear distinction.... here.
One can be happy to be in one country but how can you pride being its citizen..... only if you are involved in evolution of that country. I don't think anybody will have any right to feel proud about anything that they did not achieve.
One Can definitely love their country.... want its prosperity.... but pride??? I don't think so...
My self talk might not have answers but is sure generating a lot of questions worth thinking about.
I would appreciate if my friends can join the dialogue.

Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw
One of the greatest patriot... Now is no more.
I pay my sincere condolences to this outstanding man.
He was reason for the greatest military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. We need many such daring army men in our army, who can take decisions and make those the reasons of triumph for all the years to come. A true story of success, triumph and inspiration.
May your soul rest in peace.

Not acceptable
HYDERABAD: Police on Monday arrested a college principal, P Raj Kumar, for allegedly raping a 17-year-old student on the college premises some months ago. P Raj Kumar, 42, is the principal of Success Vocational Junior College in Madhura Nagar in Dilsukhnagar since last 10 years. A 17-year-old girl from Yellamapally near Suryapet joined medical lab technician course in the college in 2006. She stays along with her father, who used to work as a watchman, at an apartment in Chaitanyapuri. According to police, the girl flunked in first year and stopped attending college after that. Seven months ago, she went to the college to collect her SSC and Intermediate certificates. "According to the girl, in the guise of giving her certificates, Raj Kumar took the girl into his room and raped her," Saroornagar inspector of police L A Bhaskar said. As a result of it, she became pregnant, but the girl kept the matter to herself. A few days ago, her parents came to know about it when they noticed changes in her body, police said. On Sunday night, the girl along with her father went to the Saroornagar police station and lodged a complaint against Raj Kumar alleging that he raped her. Police sent the girl for medical examination to Nayapul maternity hospital. Police registered a case under section 376 (Rape) of the Indian Penal Code and arrested Raj Kumar at the college on Monday. He would be produced in court on Tuesday.
I dont understand why girls keep quiet after any mishap. These bloody middle-aged rascals are the prime culprits in cases of sexual harassment. These buggers have options for their unsatisfied needs still they come after the innocent and ignorant. Forget about values they dont give a shit about society or women or even themselves. Thinnama lechama tellarinda anthe.... bathukulu... I wonder how such people are still allowed to walk on roads.
I had a bitter experience in 6Cbus during my engg days... But I slapped him in public. He was nowhere seen after that. That was daring at that moment but scary later, again but made me feel good afterwards/
These bastards are to be taught a very tough lesson and we should never let such perverted creatures wander in free society. Only controlled people can understand the value of freedom.
I define a person by his/her control over him/her self. Anger, Frustration, Love, Affection, Lust, Pain, Sorrow are natural and every human being faces one or the other feeling with everyother... may be newtons law in disguise. But this human race is said to be cultured unlike animals, which makes them stand above all. If the very root of this whole system is shattered by petty uncontrolable, silly stupid everyday emotions , it turns to become a serious problem. These are now no more silly and stupid, they are the rot that can totally crumble all we have built right from when civilization started.
Every person's life starts with and from a Woman, then is it not our minimum courtesy to defend women? I blame both men who commit the crime and also the woman who are victims.
Woman have to become conscious and fight for themselves.... idemi cinema kadu hero ochi kapadataniki. Swami Vivekananda once said " Hands OFF Women, They can help themselves "
So firstly let not things go wrong, unfortunately if they happen to go wrong dont keep quiet. Get him exposed to an extent he will never dare to even think of repeating the act.
Woman can be reason for anything and everything! motham e srushti ki karanam e adi sakthi at the same time the greatest battles are fought because of women(atleast in Hindu Mythology). so... this whole society very much is in the hands of women. please ....wake up and be the reason for good.
Men on the other hand have to watch their thoughts and actions. Dont keep blaming woman that she did not dress properly, she smiled at me... all that crap. Alright for time being even if assume that she started it all ...have you no values? have you no control? somebody else has always a supirior power over you? is that it ... then how man are you?
This whole issue drags me to a death spiral. I only want people to be responsible for themselves both men and women. We are just what we want ourselves to be.
I totally get pissed off reading such news. worst of all, I get to read them too often.

How about outsourcing Medical Services!!
Last night I happened to see a video on Youtube which says that surgeries and medical expenses in India are 1/6th of the same services in USA. Surprisingly this is a fact.
The thought of how to make money, create jobs, grow business and good will in India has always been there in my mind. Economies of scale is a very good start on my point of view. Many businesses which are looking for establishment and long term growth work on quality and value maximisation as their primary goal. Now coming to India...we have the experise in everything! be it IT, medical field or avionics...so why not outsource the medical services by setting up agencies that handle US patients in need of affordable yet reliable service for them and their family.
Lets put it this way...
If a surgery is going to cost $60K in USA, the same surgery can be done in India for 10K. Being practical lets make it $15K inclusive of all other expences. Its quite obvious that given a choice, this person would opt for India.
The only concern is reliability and organization(both can be addressed by aid of an intermidiate agency-IA, I propose)
Now the IA responsibility-
1. Set up an interface/communication media by which it can track all the people(client) in need of cheap medical services.
2. Once we track their requirements ...IA has to do maping of the available doctors to offer those services and get a gray figure of expence.
3. IA now has to add on travel, stay, commission and other misc expenses to the medical expences and give a figure to the client( which will most probably be around 1/5th to 1/4th of his expense in USA for the same)
4 Negotiate with client about price and then arrange a time depending on the availability of the doctor, flights etc.
5. Now that all things are set, IA has to secure this client service till he gets back safe to his home country and should assure the quality of service.
Through this.....
My mind most of the times is like this... Idea's from nowhere... I would appreciate if you can critique, discuss, comment or suggest.

Now...RTI on the go...:-)
HYDERABAD: Armed with the Right to Information (RTI) Act, citizens are posing peculiar questions to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at an average of 10 applications per day. The questions range from appointments, service matters, building penalisation scheme etc. It's not the city folk but people from districts and even other states are demanding information. Consider this. P Anand, a resident of Ashok Nagar in the city sought information on last November's appointment of additional commissioner (heritage) J Kedareshwari. This included whether she was posted in GHMC through an open advertisement and why her appointment was done in haste and the qualifications and eligibility for the post. He even sought to know whether GHMC knew about allegations against her when she was Director of Archaeology and Museums. To this, the GHMC replied that she was posted to municipal administration by the state government and it is utilising her services as they are needed for the city. They were not aware of any allegations against her, they added. Anil Sarma of Trimulgherry wanted to know whether his developer had applied for regularisation of an unauthorised construction in a building on Road No 13 of Banjara Hills. The GHMC replied that no such application was filed. Surprisingly, a few months ago the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation sought information under the RTI Act for records pertaining to the area. Aurangabad was part of the Nizam state before independence. As there were no records available with the corporation, the GHMC referred the question to the state central library. Not only individuals, but associations too are on a questioning spree. Ashoka Lake View Residency-Owners' Welfare Association in Kundanbagh questioned how unauthorised construction on the 8th floor of the complex was assessed for payment of property tax. It also sought ownership documents and title deeds of the property. Well, it's activists too who are in the forefront. Mantri Shyam Prasad, Secretary of AP Human Rights Council, Visakhapatnam has sent a list of 50 questions on various issues including the city development plan, leased lands, burial grounds and how many religious bodies in the city were allotted land in the city. An attender, who was working in the Mayor's peshi in 1987, was suspended on various allegations. He applied under the RTI Act seeking his service book details. But the corporation officials refused to give details under the RTI Act as they are more than 20-years-old. That's citizens' power at work.

Great... People are now becoming aware of their rights which will compel them to also be responsible... and not very far is the day when there are going to be more questions than answers.
Lets correct the system. RTI is the most appropriate weapon.
Wake up....politicians, law breakers and complacent government officials. Get to some real work and show concrete results else you will be digging your own grave!
Great going people.... USE RTI. It is our right and its our way to a better society.
Satyamevajayathe ( so... get the truth out through RTI)
Jai Hind.

Corrections and Updates
I have got the right Information this time from a very able person, Mr Rakesh.
There is sec 49-O in the THE CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS RULES, 1961 and what it means is,
"If you feel nobody is worth your vote, you can use section 49-O of the constitution.
This is what law ministry says, Excerpt from law ministry web site:
49-O. *Elector deciding not to vote*.-If an elector, after his
electoral roll number has been duly entered in the register of voters in Form-17A and has put his signature or thumb impression thereon as required under sub-rule (1) of rule 49L, decided not to record his vote, a remark to this effect shall be made against the said entry in
Form 17A by the presiding officer and the signature or thumb impression of the elector shall be obtained against such remark"
And 49-O votes are not considered. For example, a candidate gets only one vote and all the other votes cast are 49-O, even then the candidate wins.
http://lawmin.nic.in/ld/subord/cer1.htm
and search for 49-O
I apologize for the previous post. That information was not supported or justified properly! But it was so good that I could not resist posting it without verifying it.
Rakesh bhayya I thank you for correcting me.

Please......
Do you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O".Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if acandidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public....
Please spread this news to as many as you know... Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance. So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this information if possible. Use your voting right for a better INDIA.
Small thing make big difference... and this one is surely one of them.
Think and decide.

Petrol prices!!
Following is the article from well known Newspaper. Find the detail break-up of the Final price of petrol available atfuel pumps. This is a break up considering crude oil at 130 $ per barrel. Following details are for per liter petrol in Rs.
Basic Price = 21.93
Excise duty = 14.35
Education Tax = 00.43
Dealer commission = 01.05
VAT = 05.50
Crude Oil Custom duty = 01.10
Petrol Custom = 01.54
TransportationCharge = 06.00
Total price = Rs 51.90
So for one litre petrol costs Rs 22 at pumps we people are paying Rs 28 tax extra. Govt. is thinking to impose more price hike to curtain with the current crude oil bubble in International oil crisis.

Vegetarian?? Here are some profound reasons :-)
Consider becoming a vegetarian (I am a vegetarian) because : ---->
- Plants don't shit.
- Plants don't have sweat glands.
- Plants don't have blood.
- I don't like chewing on dead bodies.
- I am not blood thirsty.
- Vegetarians live longer.
- Vegetarians are healthier.
- Apart from salt which can be got from the sea, plants lack no nutrients that an animal can give because the animals themselves got those nutrients from plants. In fact animals may lack many nutrients that plants have because they may not have absorbed it.
- Plant food is healthy food. All plant germs are destroyed by proper cooking. Whereas animal germs may survive even when fully cooked because the fat in animals protect the germs from being destroyed. Such fat is not present in plants.
- Plants can't cause Pandemics like bird flu, SARS. There is a possibility that an animal virus can infect man, but there is not even a remote possibility that a plant dependent bacteria can migrate to humans.
- Plant food is plentiful as they lie at the bottom of the food pyramid.
- If the demand for animal food does not go down, then animals will continue being crammed into confined spaces in order to breed the largest numbers in the smallest area possible, which will increase the likelihood that an animal virus will migrate to man.
- I live in India (The world's number one vegetarian country.). (We Indians have a terrible time finding good (healthy vegetarian) food when we travel outside of India.)
- My ancestors have been vegetarians for thousands of years.
- Elephants are 1000 times more stronger than you. Elephants are the biggest land animals and elephants are pure vegetarians. I am pointing out this to bust the myth that vegetarians can't become big and strong.
- If it seems more humane go one step further and become a vegan.
