I pride being an Indian?
proud to be a Pakistani?
proud to be an American?
Why should one pride being in one nationality...
I was musing on this topic....
I personaly feel a lot towards my country and always have some desperation to do something for the wellness of my country. Now My country..... How is it my country? because I am born and brought up there. Okay.
Born there///-----> Birth is an accident. I could have born anywhere infact.
We cannot choose our parents so... its something predecided and not earned by us.
Brought Up.............> My brought up was there because my parents were born there which again goes back to the last statement.
Now coming to Pride/.... is it not arrogant to pride something that you did not earn? Yes it is. Absolutely. I find my reason logically pleasing....
Then what is this attachment towards a place ? is it any thing near to caste/ religion feeling....
What a contradicting ideology am I having. Never could stand the caste feeling but now this country/race/ethnicity is exactly the same as that. what a bullshit!!!
Further argument within myself has led me to understand that there is difference in humanity and love! I don't understand how that national pride took me to distinguishing love and humanity... but this is what has happened
Love is a feeling which will want you to keep the other person/being happy and smiling no matter what irrespective of self interest. we find satisfaction and peace in the loved one's success and happiness/ Humanity is not wanting to cause pain or helping other person in sorrow and guilt. There's very clear distinction.... here.
One can be happy to be in one country but how can you pride being its citizen..... only if you are involved in evolution of that country. I don't think anybody will have any right to feel proud about anything that they did not achieve.
One Can definitely love their country.... want its prosperity.... but pride??? I don't think so...
My self talk might not have answers but is sure generating a lot of questions worth thinking about.
I would appreciate if my friends can join the dialogue.

pride is the word which you should understand. if only you have pride about your body (it is not proud)you keep it healthy ,dress properly, comb your hair,applying all the stuff to change the colour or oder .u did not design your body or its name which are permanent through out your life you do many things for keeping them right,why do you get feelings of happyness, sorrow .... because of your attachment towards your self.pride is not what you have done previously but what you are doing now and planning to do. pride is not proud, proud is the reaction you get to the achievements others do, but pride is the inner feeling of self achievements .pride of being you, of being one in your family .of being one in your state, of being one in your country is the love and gratitude towards your parents, self ,country.....
you will not feel the pride only if you do something for it.it may be miss world achievement of your country's ms.rai bachan (photo on your id)or very small representation in a friendly conversation.big or small.(every leader will have the pride toward his country and mediocre do not. true feel of pride can be felt before any achievement as pride is nothing but the positive attitude towards its attachment to the self.
